Danh sách đề cử Quả Cầu Vàng lần thứ 75 vừa được Hiệp hội báo chí nước ngoài Hollywood công bố vào tối 11/12 (theo giờ Việt Nam). The Shape of Water, Call Me by Your Name, The Post, Dunkirk và Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri là những tác phẩm được gọi tên ở hạng mục cao nhất ở mảng điện ảnh: Phim chính kịch xuất sắc.
Bộ phim tình cảm lãng mạn The Shape of Water của đạo diễn Guilermo del Toro dẫn đầu với tất cả 7 đề cử. Theo sau là The Post và Three Billboards Outside Ebbing - mỗi phim nhận 6 đề cử.
"Get Out" gây choáng khi là phim kinh dị nhưng được đề cử Phim hài/ca nhạc xuất sắc nhất.
Về diễn xuất, hạng mục Nam chính xuất sắc nhất phim chính kịch chứng kiến cuộc đua gay cấn, hấp dẫn giữa 4 cái tên kỳ cựu là Daniel Day-Lewis, Tom Hanks, Gary Oldman, Denzel Washington và tân binh Timothée Chalamet – chàng diễn viên năm nay chỉ vừa tròn 21 tuổi. Về phía Nữ chính phim chính kịch, Meryl Streep nâng kỷ lục đề cử lên con số 29.
Đáng chú ý là ở hạng mục Nữ diễn viên phụ xuất sắc, Hong Chau – một diễn viên gốc Việt đã được gọi tên trong bảng đề cử bên cạnh Mary J. Blige, Allison Janney, Laurie Metcalf và Octavia Spencer.
Hong Chau tỏa sáng trong "Downsizing".
Phía đề cử dành cho Đạo diễn xuất sắc, sân chơi thuộc về cánh mày râu gồm toàn những tên tuổi lớn như: Guillermo del Toro, Christoper Nolan, Ridley Scott, Steven Spielberg và Martin McDonagh. Hai nữ đạo diễn gây tiếng vang lớn trong năm nay là Patty Jenkins và Greta Gerwig không được nhắc đến.
Ở mảng phim truyền hình, bộ phim vừa "thống trị giải Emmy" của HBO là Big Little Lies tiếp tục càn quét với 6 đề cử. Theo sau là Freus: Bette and Joan với 4 đề cử. Các bộ phim như This is Us, Fargo và "tân chủ nhân Emmy chính kịch 2017" là The Handmaid’s Tale đều nhận được 3 đề cử cho mỗi phim.
"Big Little Lies" vừa nhận được tin vui sẽ được HBO sản xuất phần 2 cùng cơn mưa đề cử Quả Cầu Vàng.
